Hyundai Announces Raising Pay for Production Team Members |
Hyundai plans to implement a pay plan in January 2024 that will raise hourly earnings for production team members in the United States by 25% by the year 2028. In order to attract and retain top staff and to stay competitive, the firm is raising its salary structure. Alabama’s manufacturing team has met its goals for this year, which include completing the Genesis Electrified GV70 earlier this year and successfully preparing to start production of the brand-new Hyundai Santa Fe in January 2024 (which will be displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week).

Production team members’ compensation at HMMA will have grown by 14% in the last year, starting in 2024. This increase includes a rise that was granted earlier in 2023. In addition to offering 25 vacation days to team members with 15 years of service, HMMA has already completed the salary progression to the top rate in 30 months, or 2.5 years.
The 4,000 or more production team members at HMMA have continuously demonstrated excellence in quality, safety, delivery, attendance, and other internal criteria that the firm uses to make sure every car manufactured satisfies its exacting requirements.
“We are paying our team members appropriately because they are the best in the business,” stated José Muñoz, president and COO of Hyundai Motor Company’s global operations as well as the president and CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America. Hyundai consistently works to keep its pay and benefits competitive with those of its counterparts in the sector.

This year, the men and women of HMMA have gone above and beyond the call of duty in manufacturing the first electric car at our plant, the Genesis Electrified GV70, and getting ready for the launch of the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe. The team’s continued adoption of a continuous improvement approach is demonstrated by internal KPIs, which are used to monitor productivity, safety, and quality. The building of our new Metaplant is progressing ahead of schedule because of the diligent effort of our partners and the staff in Georgia.
